The combined districts will now have double the leadership and double the membership. The combined strengths of these two combined districts will help the OCBSA better implement the aims of scouting.
The newly formed Golden West District of the OCBSA, (Orange County Boy Scouts of America) was launched on 01/01/2020. The district is comprised of the former districts of El Capitan and Orange Frontier. These two districts will continue to serve the following communities.

- Buena Park
- La Palma
- Cypress
- Los Alamitos
- Westminster
- Seal Beach
