Troop 655G Holds Inaugural Court of Honor

 

On November 30th, Troop 655G held it inaugural Court of Honor at Los Coyotes elementary School in La Palma. Serving as the Master of Ceremony was Kesav Patel, from Troop 650, brother troop to Troop 655G. All five Scouts, Kailey Nguyen, Karyn Trinh, Devi Patel, Giuliana Sanchez, and Genevieve Sanchez earned the rank of Scout and completed at least one merit badge. Kailey, Karyn and Devi earned the Eagle required merit badge, Citizenship of Society, which they earned while participating at Camporall in October, at Eldorado Park.

 

Troop 655G is led by Scoutmaster, Anuja Patel, and Assistant Scoutmasters, Quan Trinh, Nancy Truong, and Sangeeta Parekh.

 

Also, in attendance to lend their support at this exciting event were Andy Nguyen and Gabriel Sanchez from Troop 650. Other guests included Jamir Finnsson, District Commissioner, Mat Forester, District Cub Scout Summer Day Camp Chair, Charlie Osaki, District Chair and Vice Chair, OCBSA, and District Executive, Sarah Whittenburg.

 

While this was Troop 655G’s first Court of Honor, the overwhelming enthusiasm expressed by Scouts and adult volunteers alike signaled that this is clearly the first of many to come.
