Mark it on your calendars!
What is Camporee? Camporee is a weekend outdoor activity program designed to allow Scouts to compete in a fun atmosphere in a variety of Scout Skills. The purpose of this outdoor experience is to create an opportunity for all Scouts (Boys & Girls) to demonstrate their scout skills and knowledge, and through a fun-filled series of events to give them a chance to compete with other patrols from other troops in a variety of scout skills. Probably nothing in the scouting program appeals to boys and girls more than the opportunity for adventure in the great outdoors.
What will they do? We will have a wide range of fun, yet challenging activities for the Scouts to compete in including some or all of the following:
- Lashings & Lodge Poles Go-Kart Construction Event
- BSA Knowledge & Trivia Game
- Fire Building Event
- Knots Competition. (T295)
- Campsite Set-up Competition
- Orienteering/Navigation Event
- Cooking Competition
- Teamwork Events (Surprise)
- First Aid Competition
- Shooting Sports (Archery & Rifle)
Who can attend? All Scouts BSA members are invited to participate. Not every parent need attend, although they are welcome too, and we need plenty of adult help with the events so the youth can participate.
What’s the goal? The goal of this event if two-fold. First, it’s supposed to be fun. Second, it’s a way for BSA patrols from GWD troops and crews to compete in a variety of events testing their teamwork, scout skills, physical prowess, and marksmanship. The boys and girls will get a chance to work as a team, think creatively and demonstrate in practice what they have been learning during their Scouting journey.
What is the cost? The cost per person is $ per Person. This fee applies individually to each participant. We also have a day-use only option for adults that are coming on Saturday to help out their Troops but will not be camping. There are no youth day-only options as the goal is to have all camp at least one night. We are making every effort to keep the cost as low as possible while ensuring a safe, very fun, and memorable event.
How do I sign up? ALL REGISTRATIONS WILL BE PERFORMED INSIDE OF THE SCOUTING EVENT WEBSITE
What about food? Troops and Crews will be responsible for preparing food for their consumption during the weekend event. This is a great opportunity to knock out cooking requirements!
